Die letzten Live-Aufnahmen von Roye Albrighton!
1969 fand mit NEKTAR eine Band zusammen, die auch heute noch zu den wichtigsten und bekanntesten ProgRock-Bands der Welt zählt. Gegründet von den Briten Roye Albrighton, Allan Freeman, Ron Howden und Derek Moore in Hamburg gelangte die Band schnell zu Weltruhm und wurde zum legendären Vorbild für viele andere Musiker dieser Zeit. Zu diesem Ruf haben ebenfalls ihre grandiosen Live-Auftritte beigetragen, die neben ausgefeilter Musik auch opulente Lichtinstallationen und Diaprojektionen boten. Auch wenn die Gentlemen 1973 leicht selbstironisch ein Plakat mit „NOT the number one German band in England but the number one Englisch band in Germany“ überschrieben, so waren sie zu diesem Zeitpunkt längst in ganz Europa und den USA Stars. Die Alben "Sounds Like This" „Remember The Future“ und „Down To Earth“ (alle drei von Sireena auf Vinyl wiederveröffentlicht) erreichten Gold-Status, die Tourneen als „gut besucht“ zu bezeichnen wäre schamlos untertrieben. Doch wie das Leben so spielt, war nach einigen Auf und Abs Anfang der 1980er erst einmal Schluss. Doch zum Glück nicht für immer, denn 2001 ließen Albrighton und Freeman zusammen mit Ray Hardwick Nektar wieder auferstehen. Und das durchaus erfolgreich, wie die treuen Fans auf der ganzen Welt bezeugen können.
Das vorliegende Triple-Vinyl-Album Doppel- CD wurde 2015 im Rahmen eines Konzertes im bekannten Bremer Meisenfrei Blues Club aufgenommen. Es ist gleichzeitig das letzte Konzert von NEKTAR mit ihrem Gründer Roye Albrighton, der am 26. Juli 2016 nach längerer Krankheit verstarb. Die Auflage dieses aussergewöhnlichen Albums ist auf 500 Exemplare limitiert!

In 1969, a band was formed that still is one of the most important and most famous progressive and art-rock formations in the world: Nektar. Founded by the Brits Roye Albrighton, Allan Freeman, Ron Howden and Derek Moore in Hamburg, the band quickly became world famous and turned into a legendary idol for other musicians at that time. Their terrific live performances have contributed to this reputation, which aside from elaborately created music also offered opulent light installation and slides projections. Even though the gentlemen in 1973 slightly self-ironically put the headline “NOT the number one German band in England but the number one English band in Germany“ on one of their posters, they already were stars in all of Europe and the USA. The long-playing records “Remember The Future” and “Down To Earth” achieved gold status, to describe their tours as “well attended” would be a shameless understatement. But as life goes, after some ups and downs in the early 1980ies, the band broke up. Luckily not forever, because in 2001, Albrighton, Freeman and Ray Hardwick revived the band Nektar. And with enormous success until today, as many fans in the world can confirm.
This triple vinyl albumt was recorded in 2015 at a concert hosted by the well known Meisenfrei Blues Club in Bremen,it is also the last concert of NEKTAR with it founder Roye Albrighton, who died on July 26, 2016 after a long illness.
